Job Description

Robert Half is looking for a Senior Accountant with previous experience to fill an open position at a respected Machinery Manufacturing company. Your main responsibilities in this position would include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This position requires top-notch analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This Senior Accountant role is located in North York, Ontario. Your responsibilities

- Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external

- Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner

- Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

- Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests

- Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

- Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary

- Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives
- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

- SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus

- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

- Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

- Ability to meet deadlines

- Skilled at time management

- Investor Relations experience

- Investor reporting experience highly desired

- Expertise in financial statements consolidation

- Solid understanding of Consolidated Financial Statements

- Adeptness in Excel Formulas

- Strong familiarity with Financial Consolidation

- 3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

- Skilled with ERP systems

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

- Excellent oral and written communications skills

- Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
