Job Description


Robert Half has a terrific opportunity for a permanent Senior Accountant to join an innovative, growing company in the Mississauga, Ontario area. As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Responsibilities

- Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP

- Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions

- Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

- Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management

- Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required

- Partake in various department-wide initiatives

- Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

- Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

- Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations

Requirements

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

- Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance

- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

- Vow to meet business deadlines

- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

- Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)

- Knowledge of general ledger

- Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

- Monthly Financial Statements experience

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

- Knowledgeable of ERP systems

- Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

- Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

- 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
