Job Description

A thriving company in the Agriculture industry is on the search for a permanent Senior Accountant to join their team for this remote opportunity. In the position you will work from home aside from 4 days/ mo where you will travel to various site locations in Southwestern Ontario. Locations will be assigned based on your home area. Each month you will be required to visit the head office for a meeting, which is located in the London, ON area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Your responsibilities

- Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests

- Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

- Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external

- Engage in various department-wide initiatives

- Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary

- Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

- Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

- Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

Requirements

- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

- Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

- Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are required

- Must have excellent time management skills

- 2+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

- Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Efficient in ERP systems

- Travel experience

- Knowledge of multi set of books

- Financial reporting experience highly desired

- Month end closings experience

- Financial analysis experience

- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
