As the Squad Lead - Ophthalmology & Immunology you are an adventurous, authentic leader who adopts, drives enterprise thinking, patient and customer centricity in everything you do. You are accountable for developing and delivering on your therapeutic / disease area ambitions, while having an enterprise mindset at all times. You are accountable for business strategy, mobilizing a cross-disciplinary team and encouraging an environment of effective collaboration and outstanding execution excellence. Our Squads are empowered and end-to-end accountable for crafting and delivering value propositions to our patients, customers and business, and responsible for executing and leading all aspects of work. The Opportunity
  • You are providing inspirational leadership in setting the vision and strategic ambition for the therapeutic area/ disease area squad and assuming overall accountability for the delivery for the ambition
  • You are leading and coaching of squad members (in lock-step alignment with functional leaders), to ensure individuals and teams are developing and growing in line with the needs of the organization and their aspirations
  • You are ensuring Squad strategic plans and execution (including resources and investments) are aligned to both squad AND enterprise portfolio priorities
  • You are fostering collaboration and expertise-sharing across the organization to remove silos and duplication, ensure efficient use of similar skill-sets, and to ultimately in service of organizational purpose
  • You are accountable for squad outcome based plans, P&L responsibility, and defining (and regularly assessing) investments, resources and capabilities required to achieve these outcomes
  • You are responsible for the performance of the squad and creating the right conditions to achieve desired outcomes (impact retros, ensuring that feedback is being provided to all team members)
Who you are
  • You possess 7+ years of leadership experience in the highly competitive life sciences or health care system sector with strong entrepreneurial mindset and proven track record of impact
  • You demonstrate strong business acumen, communication and negotiating skills
  • You have a proven people-centered collaborative leadership, relationship management with diverse set of stakeholders and influencing mindset
  • You demonstrate proficiency in mentoring, coaching and empowering teams and the ability to have crucial conversations with skill
  • You hold a Bachelor degree in scientific or business related field

Preferred
  • You hold an advanced degree (eg. Ph.D, MSc, MD, PharmD)
  • You have experience in the ophthalmology therapeutic area
  • You have shown, broad and in-depth commercial and customer engagement experience in the pharma/biotech industry
  • You demonstrate strong collaboration and networking skills internally (local and global) and externally
  • You strength in leading with ambiguity and possess experience in working with and leading a cross-functional team with diverse competencies, skills and functional expertise
