Overview

Silver Valley Fire Protection Ltd. is seeking motivated new or experienced Sprinkler Fitter Apprentices to join our growing service team. This position offers hands-on experience working on a wide range of residential and commercial fire protection systems throughout the Lower Mainland and surrounding regions.

The successful candidate will support the installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair of fire sprinkler systems while developing their technical skills under the guidance of certified Journeymen. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a professional attitude. Flexibility and reliability are essential, as service work may involve travel to various job sites, including occasional out-of-town assignments.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the installation, modification, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards, BC Fire Code, and local building regulations.

Participate in system inspections, maintenance, flushing, hydrostatic testing, dry system repairs, and other service activities.

Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings with increasing independence as skills develop.

Accurately document work performed, including inspections, deficiencies, repairs, and test results.

Safely operate hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, lifts, and testing devices.

Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, clients, and team members.

Follow all company policies and site-specific safety procedures.

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.

Skills & Qualifications

Registered Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice or strong interest in entering the trade.

Previous construction or mechanical experience is an asset but not required.

Basic understanding of fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, standpipe) is an asset.

Willingness and ability to travel to various job sites, including occasional out-of-town assignments.

Comfortable working at heights and in varying site conditions.

Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.

Good communication, time management, and teamwork skills.

Professional attitude with a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
