Summary / Role Purpose
You will work as an engineering or computer science intern in the Ansys CFD business, contributing to the development and release of our best-in-class Ansys CFD products. The role is primarily development focused, in that it\'s better if you are interested in writing code. In that context you will have the opportunity to engage in all stages of planning, creation, and evolution, and to work closely with our CFD team to deliver customers new features and capabilities. Depending on your interests, development activities may focus on front-end UI applications, integrating our CFD products with other Ansys simulation tools as well as working on numerical methods and algorithms.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with other development, documentation and testing professionals.
Writing code in Python, C/C++, C# or JavaScript.
Testing your changes using unit and integration testing frameworks
Contribute within our software development lifecycle by planning and completing tasks within the team\'s test-driven and agile practices
Provide regular updates of your progress, possibly presenting it to your colleagues or others at Ansys.
Learn new things.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
Enrolled in engineering, computer science, or related field.
Experience with a programming language such as Python or C++. For example, if you have some code you could share with us.
A genuine interest in algorithms and data structures, software design concepts, and programming paradigms
Ability to learn quickly, solve problems, and work collaboratively in a globally distributed team
Recommended Qualifications and Skills
Skills in programming are desirable for this role. You will get more out of it if you can program well already or if you are willing to learn.
If you can demonstrate your coding experience via sharing code with us that would be great. For instance, a GitHub repository that you have contributed to.
Some knowledge of the Python ecosystem: Matplotlib, pandas and NumPy
Experience with CI/CD. For instance, knowledge of GitHub actions would be helpful.
