Our summer staff work forty hours per week, receive job and safety training, and are provided personal protective equipment.

The Sprayer Operator is responsible for herbicide applications on municipal and private lands for weed and brush control based on the County's Vegetation Management Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform vegetation management and herbicide applications, in accordance with Brazeau County's Vegetation Management Program
Safely operate and maintain equipment, including trucks, trailers, spray equipment, and tools
Provide assistance with maintenance tasks for Agricultural Services
Record keeping
To undertake any other reasonable duty, commensurate with the classification and responsibility of the position, across the department in order to meet service priorities and business continuity requirements.
May be required in the event of a municipal emergency to support the emergency operations centre and incident action/recovery plan.
COMPETENCY AREAS:
Education/Training:
Currently pursuing post-secondary education is considered an asset.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Licenses/Certifications/Designation:
A valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
A clean Driver's Abstract is required.
Experiences/Knowledge/Skills:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Ability to perform physical labour
Must be able to work independently
Familiarity in agriculture and experience with operating light equipment is an asset
Computer software experience using GIS/GPS, Office 365, and web-based reporting programs is required.
Must have effective communication skills and ability to interact with many different individuals in a professional manner
Must be able to work for the entire period of the position.
