Salary: $15.00/hr - $17.33/hr

What qualifications are we looking for?
At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;
\xc2\xb7 Comprehensive knowledge of the sport of basketball;
\xc2\xb7 Prior playing, refereeing and/or coaching experience;
\xc2\xb7 Basketball Referee Certifications are an asset;
\xc2\xb7 Current Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the last 12 months);
\xc2\xb7 Evidence of a clear Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search;
\xc2\xb7 Three professional references required.
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Duties and responsibilities include:
\xc2\xb7 Provide basketball refereeing for the YMCA basketball leagues for ages 9-14;
\xc2\xb7 Teach and enforce the game rules of basketball;
\xc2\xb7 Make modifications to game rules of basketball based on the age of the participants, skill levels and time during the season;
\xc2\xb7 Ensure enjoyment, game flow and equal participation;
\xc2\xb7 Organize participants so that games begin and end on time;
\xc2\xb7 Communicate with the game day coaches on an ongoing basis;
\xc2\xb7 Be available for tournaments three times a year;
\xc2\xb7 Assist the Sport Supervisor in other areas as required.
