Are you passionate about sports and want to make a difference working with vulnerable youth? Ehrlo Sport Venture Program is currently seeking a Sports League Coordinator to help us deliver a variety of recreation programs. This is an exciting new position where you can have an impact in the community.

The Sports League Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of barrier-free sporting leagues within the community. This role is the first point of contact for the Ehrlo Sport Venture Programs. The Sports League Coordinator is responsible to facilitate community sports programs and assisting in the operations of the Ehrlo Sport Venture Lending Library. The League Coordinator works with the Program Manager and Recreation workers and facilitates training for league coaches and volunteers to create a safe and enabling learning environment for every participant. The successful applicant will be required to work some days, evenings and weekends dependent on the needs of the programs.

Qualifications

Education and Professional Certification

• Certificate, diploma or degree in child and youth care educational assistant, kinesiology, education, social work or in a related field of study.

Experience

• Minimum one (1) year of experience working with at risk children and/or youth.
• Experience in delivery of sports program, managing, and coach sport leagues.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain, and ensures delivery barrier-free sporting leagues within the community.
• Ensure league registration communication is sent and received to internal and external stakeholders.
• Responsible for the preparation of league session plans for each league sport season.
• Conducts meetings with coaches, volunteers, and if applicable, program participants.
• Provides onsite support and direction to recreation workers, league ambassadors and volunteers as required.
• Responsible for planning and implementing of special events for the Ehrlo Sport Venture Programs.
• Engage, support and motivates coaches, volunteers and program participants.
• Responsible to provide support for the Ehrlo Sport Venture Lending Library when required.

Leadership

• Responsible for recruitment and selection of sport league coaches and volunteers.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to new employees, coaches, and volunteers including; facilitating coaches training and supervision of volunteers.
• Display positive role modelling, agency values and fairness.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with the Sport Venture Program team, community partners, funders, and program participants.
• Collaborate with and communicate to the multidisciplinary team when required.

Safety

• Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
• Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions.
