The successful candidate will have the following;Bachelor of Physical Education, Kinesiology (or related degree) and/or equivalent experienceExperience working with the Canadian Sport for Life Model including Physical LiteracyMinimum two years\' experience in coaching and sport program delivery, and one-year supervisory experienceExperience with Learn to Skate programming would be considered an assetNational Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Fundamentals is an asset (basketball, soccer, badminton or skating)Current Standard First Aid, Basic Rescuer CPR (within 1 year) and AED certificationEvidence of a cleared police security clearance including a vulnerable sector searchThree professional references requiredWhat does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?Reporting to the Sport Manager the Sport Supervisor will:Ensure high quality of programs and execution of the program design by personal, direct delivery of programs (Basketball, multi-sport, Badminton, Soccer & Learn to Skate)Build relationships with parents, participants, volunteers and staffHave a high degree of organizational and administrative skill to ensure Association procedures are adhered to as set by YMCA CalgaryVolunteer recruitment (volunteer fairs, interview, train and performance manage)Market and promote programsDevelop, control and evaluate the Sport Integrated Leadership Team (ILT) budget for your branch, related statistics, and purchase equipment as requiredActive coaching and mentoring of staff and volunteers, including providing feedback on a regular basisBe responsible for ensuring your staff and volunteers receive department and Association specific trainingEffectively communicate in a variety of settings; excellent oral and written communication skills, including intermediate use of technologyEnsure excellent quality member service by identifying the needs and wants of participants as priority and respond to their concerns in an effective and timely mannerFacilitate leadership programs for staff and volunteersAttend all ILT meetings and provide leadership of designated committee workAssist with branch duties (including scheduled duty manager shifts, day camps, registration days, etc)Attend branch and ILT special events (Healthy Kids Day, Basketball tournaments, All Sport One Day, in-services, Stampede Breakfast, volunteer appreciation etc)Implement all health and safety systems, policies, and proceduresBe a Let\'s Raise Ambassador and share YMCA storiesWhat qualities do we look for in YMCA Calgary Staff and Volunteers?Our diverse team of staff and volunteers are committed to making a positive impact in the community.
