The Team

The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre is a designated Mental Health facility within the Ministry of Children and Family Development. With services offered on-site in Coquitlam, Prince George, and Vernon, and community outreach provided across the province, the Maples brings together a multi-disciplinary team that includes Elders, Child and Youth Care Workers, Psychiatrists, Nurses, Indigenous Child Care Counsellors, Recreation staff, and Resource staff. This diverse and collaborative team works together to support the mental health and well-being of young people and their families.

The Team

In this role, Social Workers/Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Clinicians play a key part in delivering a broad range of mental health services to children and youth experiencing serious emotional, psychological, behavioural, or psychiatric challenges. You will provide direct clinical services including intake, assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis intervention. Services are delivered flexibly, both on-site and in community settings, in collaboration with families, caregivers, and local supports to create coordinated service plans and achieve positive outcomes. Job Requirements:

Masters in Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level, or equivalent. +

NOTE:

If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
Minimum of one (1) year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:


Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Metis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week as per the Telework Agreement.

An eligibility list may be established to fill both current and/or future permanent vacancies.
