Our practice currently offers both in-person sessions and online therapy sessions via Zoom. We are located in the Valley Way Medical Arts building at 6150 Valley Way.

Job description



Niagara Speech Connections is looking for a creative and energetic Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to conduct assessments and create treatment plans. The applicant will primarily assess children, with some opportunities to assess older adults. The caseload will primarily include clients with expressive & receptive language delays, stuttering, literacy, articulation, and autism spectrum disorders.

The successful applicant must have experience and confidence working in one-on-one sessions with children, successfully administering assessments, generating goals, and conducting billing transactions. The successful candidate must maintain adequate liability insurance. A Police Vulnerable Sector Check is required. The successful applicant will be expected to commence training in May/June.

Full-time Opportunity



There is an opportunity for the hired applicant to transition to full-time hours over time based on new client intake and availability with other therapists. This would expand the SLPs scope of practice to engage in weekly planning and discussion with Communicative Disorders Assistants as well as conducting speech therapy sessions with a regular clientele. At the time when full-time hours are available, a revised employment contract would be negotiated between Niagara Speech Connections and the successful applicant, if desired.

Major Responsibilities:

Conduct and score speech and language assessments. Create individualized goals for each client. Write post-assessment/session notes creating future goals to review with the SLP. Participate in team discussions/collaborations. Create individualized communication and literacy materials that support a child's communication and/or literacy development. Report to a clinical lead. Conduct one-on-one assessments. Provide guidance and supervision to Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDA). Conducting the billing process upon the completion of each session. Communicate with clients and client's parents regarding speech goals, progress, and potential at-home activities. Schedule future sessions at the client's request. Participate in continuing education classes and workshops to remain current.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized college or university. Registered with CASLPO. Experience working with children is preferred. Proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required. Flexibility. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Professional Liability Insurance.
