Your Opportunity:
Child Development Services (CDS) offers a meaningful opportunity for a Speech Language Pathologist to contribute to a tertiary-level outpatient program supporting children, youth, and families with complex needs that exceed the scope of community or secondary services. Our clients often present with multifaceted medical, neurological, developmental, behavioral, and psychosocial challenges, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum dDsorder, genetic conditions, attention and learning difficulties, and co-occurring mental health concerns, often within the context of family stressors or barriers to care. As a Speech Language Pathologist in an advanced clinical practice role, you will provide comprehensive, evidence-based, family-centered assessment and consultation for children from birth to 18 years. Working collaboratively with developmental pediatricians, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, nurses, psychometrists, and education consultants, you will help families find clarity, direction, and support throughout their diagnostic journey. Your role will include profiling verbal and nonverbal communication and social interaction using a range of psychometric tools. Training and mentorship are available for specialized assessments and approaches. Additional responsibilities may include facilitating parent education groups, participating in case and family conferences, contributing to program development, and supporting professional education initiatives. Description:
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical professional practice both independently and as a part of a collaborative team, which may include external partners. You will be responsible for providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management. You will participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals and other partners. Your leadership and interpersonal skills will aid you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate. You will use your clinical expertise to inform ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated interest and experience (minimum 2 years) in supporting preschool and school-aged children/adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders. Proficiency in administering and interpreting standardized language and communication assessments for preschool- and school-aged populations (e.g., PLS-3, CELF-5, CASL-2, SLDT-E/A). Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, with an understanding of diverse professional roles and perspectives. Strong interpersonal and professional skills, including emotional self-awareness, conflict resolution, and problem-solving. Experience contributing to organizational change, including vision-building, risk identification, workflow development, goal setting, performance monitoring, and mentoring. Commitment to fostering psychological safety and inclusivity in clinical and team environments. Engagement in continuous learning and reflective practice, with a demonstrated ability to integrate feedback for personal and systemic growth. Family-centered approach, with the ability to support families through a neurodiversity-affirming lens. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working alongside diagnostic teams, community service providers, and partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of community resources and services for children with ASD and/or communication disorders. Speech-language and Audiology Canada (SAC) registration. Experience with EPIC/Connect Care. Experience with group education / facilitation. Understanding of psychometric measures and structured observation tools (e.g., RITA-T, TELE-ASD-PEDS, ADOS).
