We are looking for experienced behaviour interventionists, therapy assistants and educational assistants to receive further training as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistants.
At Affirming Therapy Ltd. we provide therapy services to clients in their homes or learning environment within Victoria, Westshore, Sooke and the Peninsula. You will receive training to support you in working with clients with diverse needs. Many of our clients are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. You will be working closely with a Speech-Language Pathologist who will support you in implementing a treatment plan.
Requirements:
One year of Behaviour Intervention or therapy assistant experience, working under some direction of an SLP (preferred).
Experience working with children with diverse needs.
Communicate effectively, professionally and appropriately verbally and in writing.
Good observation skills and the ability to keep accurate notes.
Demonstrate respect to all clients, clients' families, clients' care team members, and to all colleagues.
Be flexible and patient in adapting the style of sessions to suit the varied needs of the client being served.
Must have the ability to do administrative duties and computer skills.
Driver's License and access to a vehicle.
Job Type: Part-time with opportunities to increase to full time as your caseload grows.
Pay: $30-$37.50/hour

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Complete appropriate documentation and records management for the practice setting
2. Implement treatment plans as directed by the SLP for clients
3. Record client outcomes and understand what outcomes need to be reported to the registrant SLP and understand when to reach out for further support and/or direction.
4. Work cooperatively with a team and take directions and suggestions from the registrant SLP.
5. Maintain a professional attitude and confidentiality in working relationships with all clients, parents and caregivers; understand the privacy and confidentiality legislation of all client information.
6. Participate in job-related training and staff development.
7. Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.
