This position is in a preschool and/or daycare setting. Applicants will be working children with a variety of speech/language/behavioural levels in a fully inclusive setting. We believe there is a direct correlation between putting effort into building a community environment and the strong and positive effect has on each child to be their best and attain their potential. As a part of our team, you will be incorporated into this community in fostering language growth in combination with overall improvement of pre-literacy/numeracy.
Specific duties may include:
1. Participate in the development of recommendations and/or programming suggestions to meet the child's individual needs, in conjunction with the family and child's program team;
2. Working with the program staff to collect relevant data;
3. Assisting in the implementation of the recommendations and/or programming suggestions;
4. Providing individual or group treatment activities with the child under the direction of the Speech Language Pathologist;
5. Ensuring accurate communication by providing detailed notes following consultations, and extending contact to family;
6. Preparing materials and resources as needed for the individual child's program and whole class programming, for the Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and for in-service training.
Qualifications
: SLP-A Diploma
Early Childhood Experience is an asset
