Salary is based on TQS category and years of experience, ranging from

$62,445 - $109,520.

The Speech-Language Pathologist provides a range of services designed to support students whose education is adversely affected by oral communication difficulties. This focus on bridging access to curriculum and learning is achieved primarily through emphasis on assessment, consultation, and direct instruction. This work may also take on a capacity building focus via resource development and in-service for teachers and support staff. Work with students may take place individually, in small groups or in classroom settings as appropriate.

The successful applicant will be able to:




Work with school-based teams to prioritize students for assessment, consultation, and direct instruction.

Work collaboratively with teachers, other service providers and families. This may include consultation on next steps or the development of classroom and home programs.
Assess speech and language abilities of school-aged children.
Provide direct speech and language therapy.
Share information with teachers concerning pertinent speech and language pathology topics.
Work in an itinerant capacity (assigned schools).



Qualifications




Master's degree or equivalent in speech-language pathology. Registered member in good standing with College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHHPBC).
