Job Description

We are looking for Specialty RN's to join our team in servicing the Nova Scotia healthcare community. You will be a pivotal member of our company and our partners, and are responsible for medication and treatment administration, assessment, care planning wherever you may go. ICU, ER, NICU areas of responsibility are in demand!

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience*
Ability to work 12 hour shifts (4 days per week)*

Responsibilities and Duties



The Specialty RN can be assigned to a unit with patients that require more complex care. The Specialty RN is responsible for the overall coordination and direction of nursing care. The Specialty RN provides clinical leadership, particularly in complex or unpredictable patient/client care settings. The Specialty RN has the knowledge, skill and judgment needed to provide competent, evidence-based nursing practice. As a member of a collaborative care team, the Specialty RN works with other disciplines to coordinate care to achieve patient/family outcomes. The Specialty RN contributes to the efficient and effective functioning of the service/unit and coordination of patient care. The Specialty RN complies with documentation processes at NSHA sites. The Specialty RN practices in accordance with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses Practice Standards and Ministry expectations

Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)

Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Current with No Restrictions) is an asset*
Current with continuing competency and quality assurance requirements*
Driver's License or Government Identification*
Nursing Diploma*
Updated Immunization Records - Valid TB/Chest X-Ray (1 year)*
Negative Criminal Vulnerable Sector Screen (1 year)*
N95 mask fit certification (1 year)*
COVID Vaccinations (2 doses)*
Valid CPR or BLS*
Additional specialty accreditations and experience as required (ER, NICU, ICU)*
Proof of adequate professional liability protection as required under the Nursing Act, 1991*
Proof of adequate training in infection prevention and control*
Proof of not having been convicted of a prescribed offence or been found guilty of a prescribed act of professional misconduct.*

Pay: $80.00-$90.00 per hour
