About Potash

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP\'s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan\'s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansen\'s construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location

Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP. Travel to the Jansen Mine site is required on a as per needs basis.

Purpose

Reporting to the Principal Warehousing, Inventory and Logistics (WIL), the Specialist Operational Readiness is accountable to manage the execution of Supply Chain Management operational readiness deliverables for the Jansen project.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Apply an understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain to enhance efficiency, drive optimization and maximize value.
  • Drive optimization of inventory levels with a focus on improving inventory working capital and ensuring compliance with material preservation requirements.
  • Conduct inventory analysis for input into material master data set-up including; cataloguing, criticality assessment, stocking strategy establishment.
  • Apply logistics management procedures and requirements to safely and efficiently meet stakeholder demands.
  • Balance customer requirements with capability of Supply Chain to ensure required materials are available for use.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of differing views and acknowledges their importance to create open lines of communication within a team environment.
  • Ensure adherence to WIL functional requirements.
  • Align all work around performance of the respective value stream, including suppliers and customers.
  • Conducts site visits on a periodic basis to build relationships with Project stakeholders to drive achievement of business outcomes.
About You
  • 5-8 years experience in the natural resources industry, including operations, supply chain management, project management or reliability.
  • Understanding of inventory and warehousing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with Inventory Analytics, Optimization & Strategy.
  • Bias to action, attention to detail, with strong organization and effective communication skills are essential characteristics to succeed in this role.
