The Opportunity

The Specialist, Underground Mining & Facilities will report to the North Atlantic Project Group (NAPG) and is accountable for coordinating various stakeholders in evaluating the level of definition of Vale Base Metals\xe2\x80\x99 projects, in Canada and abroad. The is a permanent, onsite position located in Sudbury, Ontario.

Other accountabilities for this role include:

• Coordinate assessments as defined in the procedure while attending to Vale Base Metals\xe2\x80\x99 portfolio and highlight any concerns
• Maintain timely communication with project leader and team of project being evaluated
• Create integrated technical reports summarizing expert opinions for managerial levels and conducting presentations
• Lead, participate in, and support in meetings with projects teams and support areas
• Interact with stakeholders to provide clarification about the projects

About You

Education

• Undergraduate diploma/degree in related field
• Designations as P.Eng or PMP considered an asset

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in similar field
• Previous experience in at least one of the following areas of underground mining: engineering, project implementation, or operations/maintenance

Skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in using MS suites (especially excel and powerpoint)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams
• Ability to travel local, nationally and internationally
