About Potash

BHP\'s Jansen Potash Project located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is BHP\'s first and most advanced potash project. Jansen will add diversity and a Canadian presence to BHP\'s global portfolio. Jansen\'s large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with anticipated initial capacity of 4.35 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2027.

Work Location

This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK. The associated work schedule will be Monday to Friday.

As this role is not eligible for accommodation in the site camp, the incumbent must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Jansen site.

Reporting to the Transition Superintendent, the Specialist is responsible for supporting the assessment of the change impacts to prepare integrated management plans and facilitate the successful and sustainable transition between phases of the Jansen Project. You will identify, engage, and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders through this process. The Transition Specialist will source information, plans, and conduct analyses to support evidence-based decisions. You will also determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluate multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex challenges.

About the Role

In this role you will:

  • Contribute to the development of the change vision/strategy (i.e., approach, ways of working, governance, change patterns, tools, and accelerators) to inform project change delivery.
  • Apply a structured process to identify stakeholders and engage in regular conversations and asks probing questions to deeply understand their needs, goals, and challenges.
  • Evaluate information from a wide range of sources to understand alternative viewpoints.
  • Evaluate problem solving tools/ methodologies, and proactively generate solutions to on or off-site problems and seek feedback on their effectiveness.
  • Present data in a format that enables a variety of stakeholders to easily understand difficult concepts and identify new patterns.
  • Identify potential change risks and make recommendations on how to best address and mitigate these.
  • Track adoption and success measures to evaluate the success/sustainability of the change and recommend optimal change delivery methods accordingly.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability plans and support the development of change success metrics to monitor change adoption.
About You
  • 5 years experience in projects or operations environment.
  • Technical qualification in sciences, engineering, projects, or related field.
  • Experience in the resource or energy sector.
  • Energized by leading change and engaging with many different stakeholders to challenge the status quo.
  • Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills, with an aptitude for collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to respond to tight deadlines, significant workloads, and changing priorities.
  • Solid presentation and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and analytical skills.
