Position: Specialist, People & Culture Projects
Reports to: Chief People Officer
Position Term: Full Time Temporary (12 Months)
Primary Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Job purpose
This position will ideate, design and deliver a variety of projects in support of World Vision's People and Culture initiatives ensuring alignment with WVC's short-term and long-term strategies and corporate goals. The primary focus of this role is to apply technical and functional expertise in the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of People & Culture initiatives to achieve a 'best in class' employee experience in support of the high-performance work culture that drives World Vision Canada as an employer of choice.
Duties and responsibilities:

  • Identify and help to prioritize the highest value new initiatives within the People and Culture division resulting in increased the effectiveness of our practices organization-wide.
  • Partner with various stakeholders in People & Culture, Finance, IT, Brand, Communications, to develop and document project scope, responsibilities, delivery expectations, timing (project plan), change management plan, communications plan, training plan, testing plan, etc. to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
  • Serve as World Vision Canada's lead for day-to-day project communications and management with external vendors.
  • Maintain project communications and findings to key stakeholders within both People & Culture and business teams within World Vision Canada.
  • Promote continuous improvement by ensuring process efficiencies are identified and actioned
  • Track project performance and provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress and ensure project proceeds to plan, clarify specific requirements of each project and secure agreement for deviations.
  • Ensure monitoring and reporting on project milestones and outcomes. Anticipate, evaluate and report on risks and roadblocks.
  • Contribute to other P&C projects with different owners or champions and ensure coordination of efforts.
  • Ensure all project artifacts are clearly documented and ensure organization of project folders for ease of reference.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field.
  • Must possess CHRP designation.
  • 3-5 years of experience leading projects at an organizational level (cross functional stakeholders).
  • Project management courses are an asset as well as Project Management certification or similar; at a minimum must be familiar with project management disciplines and tools through experience and practice.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies would be an asset.
  • Understanding of change management and ability to incorporate change management methodology into project planning, approaches and communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills and writing ability.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and the ability to make clear, well researched recommendations (strong research skills).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Sensitivity to and awareness of the WVC culture in order to pro-actively listen, respond and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Able to move forward through complex situations, creatively addressing roadblocks, and work both autonomously and as a team.
