We Care Inc. is the Foodservice and Hospitality Industry's Charity of Choice, committed to helping kids with disABILITIES realize their full potential. With the united efforts of our industry supporters in a variety of fundraising events and initiatives, we seek to make a difference by raising funds to send kids with disABILITIES to accessible Easter Seals summer camps across Canada.

The

Specialist, Marketing, Creative & Communications

will be responsible for managing We Care's marketing and communication initiatives while ensuring the organization's branding is properly executed across all marketing platforms. Their work will also include the management of We Care's online and social media presence and the design and production of event and marketing materials. We are looking for the right candidate who will fit into our small 'We Care family'.

Duties & Responsibilities:



Communications



Manage We Care's social media presence (posts, stories, campaigns, videos, etc.) with the aim of growing our audience and engagement Update and maintain the website with upcoming events and other charity news Produce quarterly e-newsletter and other e-blasts, as required Create and share promotional event communications via email and social media Provide live updates during events (live tweet/post) through social media channels Represent the organization at tradeshows and speak on behalf of We Care at events, where necessary Help maintain and evolve We Care's visual and written brand identity. Gather and share impact stories from campers, donors, and partners. Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly reports for internal and board use. Assist in planning and executing stewardship strategies and initiatives Writes reviews and edits a wide variety of communications including, media releases, fact sheets, client stories, brochures, fundraising proposals, event marketing materials and eblasts, web content material, ensuring accuracy of corporate messaging, statistics and branding.

Market We Care's mission to the Foodservice & Hospitality industry, and related organizations Assist with the creation and development of event and meeting materials (presentations, slideshows, handouts, etc.), as required Design attractive, professional event marketing materials (promotional posters, event signage, social media posts, banners, programs, etc.) Attend all We Care events, helping with set up, station management, and tear down; Support third-party fundraising events, as required Assist in planning and executing national marketing campaigns across email, social, digital, and print. Monitor analytics to optimize content strategy. Create marketing assets for sponsor recognition and donor stewardship. Act as team photographer and gather photos from events, as required. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:



Qualifications



Relevant post-secondary education in marketing, fundraising, communications, and/or equivalent experience Superior writing skills in editorial and copy writing, with a proven ability to write in different styles for a variety of audiences; and demonstrates strong proof reading and editing skills. An eye for design and a proficiency in the creation of marketing materials An up-to-date knowledge on the latest social media trends and techniques Proven ability to develop and execute effective communication strategies Excellent written, oral, and communication skills Outstanding organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, with on-the-fly and solutions-driven thinking Results-oriented and a creative thinker Ability to work well under pressure and in stressful situations Proven ability to work both independently and co-operatively on a small team Ability to handle event fundraising/sales technology Tech-savvy, with an ability to learn new web/computer/mobile applications Ability to juggle simultaneous projects with conflicting timelines; while focusing on project management A flair for photography Proficiency in the following programs/applications: o Adobe Creative Suites (InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, etc.)*
o Social Media Platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)*
o Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)*
o Word Press and/or HTML*
o Google (Gmail, Drive, Forms, Sheets, etc.)*
Knowledge in the following areas considered an asset: o Payment systems (e.g. Square)*
o Online event registration systems*
o Oral and written French language*

Requirements



2-4 years experience in corporate communications, social media, and media relations. Valid Ontario driver's license and the use of an appropriately insured reliable vehicle (vehicle may be used for picking up and dropping off event materials) Periodic evening and weekend work, as required Physical effort and stamina required for lifting, loading/unloading vehicles, and event set up Some overnight, out-of-town/province travel

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
