Position Summary:
JBH will be implementing Epic's Hospital Information System (HIS) in partnership with St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH). We are looking for a passionate and skilled Interprofessional Practice Readiness Specialist to help drive this transformation and ensure safe, efficient, and practice-aligned adoption of Epic across our clinical and non-clinical teams.
Reporting to the Chief Nursing & Allied Information Officer (CNAIO), the incumbent will serve as a critical link between technical teams and frontline operations. The Interprofessional Practice Readiness Specialist will provide hands-on, practice-facing support for impacted workflows during Epic implementation and throughout the post-go-live stabilization period. By building staff readiness and optimizing workflows, the Interprofessional Practice Readiness Specialist will play a critical role in equipping JBH teams to deliver safe, standardized, and digitally enabled care.
Responsibilities:
Practice-Focused Project Initiatives

• Lead the development of an integrated work plan aligning program- and organization-level HIS deliverables.
• Track and report on deliverables, ensuring timelines, interdependencies, and risks are clearly communicated.
• Recommend prioritization of deliverables based on impact, risk, and readiness.
• Document workstream activities, monitor task completion, and provide updates to support leadership oversight.
• Participate in project workstreams and integrated governance meetings as required.

Clinical Readiness Activities

• Lead organization-wide readiness clinical readiness initiatives in collaboration with Professional Practice and Allied Health teams, while supporting Professional Practice Educators (PPEs) and Professional Practice Leads (PPLs) to focus on program-level readiness while engaging them in shaping system-wide actions.
• Apply evidence-based practices and adult learning principles to develop education and practice strategies that promote understanding, retention, and consistent adoption across disciplines.
• Partner with Professional Practice and Allied Health teams, provide guidance to the integrated Principal Trainers' training plan; support simulated learning, Day-in-the-Life events, and other experiential learning.
• Conduct environmental scans of Epic go-live strategies at peer organizations, synthesizing lessons learned to inform readiness planning.
• Deliver hands-on support to guide staff, reinforce workflows, address real-time adoption challenges, and apply adult learning principles to enhance skill retention and confidence.

Change Enablement & Sustainability

• Conduct current state mapping and gap analyses for high-impact/high-frequency workflows to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement, translating findings into actionable change strategies that support safe, standardized adoption.
• Update policies and procedures with organization-wide clinical implications to ensure alignment with new workflows and standardized digital practices.
• Identify adoption barriers, escalate risks, and champion strategies that build frontline confidence and promote sustained, standardized use of Epic across programs.
• Review and validate change management deliverables, providing clinical guidance and adjustments to ensure alignment with workflows, readiness needs, and JBH practice standards.
• Collaborate with the Project Change Manager to align practice-focused initiatives with organizational change management strategies and communication plans.
• Develop practice governance recommendations through leader input, cross-program coordination, and gap analyses to support the Connect Site partnership.
• Partner with PPEs and PPLs to build internal expertise and sustain adoption of digital workflows by co-leading practice sessions, facilitating peer-to-peer learning, and curating reference materials for ongoing use.

Develop Scalable Tools and Resources

• Build and maintain discipline-agnostic tools, templates, and playbooks to support consistent, safe, and efficient digital care delivery across workflows, programs, and disciplines.
• Ensure resources are reusable, standardized, and easily adopted by multiple clinical areas.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Allied Health, or a related health discipline required; Master's degree preferred.
• 3 - 5 years of clinical experience in a hospital or large healthcare setting, preferably with exposure to digital health initiatives.
• Epic experience strongly preferred; experience leading a HIS implementation is considered an asset.
• Strong clinical knowledge of professional practice standards, hospital operations, and patient care delivery.
• Knowledge of change management principles and strategies to support readiness and adoption.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex clinical processes and develop practical, safe, and effective digital solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage leaders, interdisciplinary teams, and frontline staff.
