About Potash

Our Jansen Potash Project is planned to be the largest potash-producing mine in the world, providing a rich source of potassium to keep soils fertile and maximize food production.\xe2\x80\x8b The Jansen Project, located 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is our most advanced project and is in the feasibility study stage. We have announced an investment of US$5.7 billion in the Jansen Stage 1 project. We own 100 percent of the project. Its large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with an anticipated initial capacity of 4.3 - 4.5 Mtpa. The demand for potash could double over the coming decades to meet our population\'s needs in a land-scarce, nutrient-depleted world.

Work Location

Downtown office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.

About the Role

Reporting to the Lead Human Resources Services Partner, the Specialist Human Resources Service Partner supports both Operations and Functional leaders within Potash in initiation of Employee Central functions. This position will assist the Service Partner team in managing escalations and act as a concierge in handling complex and sensitive cases. The incumbent will proactively monitor issues related to transactional HR activities and manage case resolution before escalations. This role forms part of a Global team of Human Resources professionals and is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills.

  • Provides support in identifying and planning upcoming HR activities requiring HR administration support
  • Analyzes reoccurring issues and identifying patterns using continuous improvement tools
  • Governs and maintains controls over payroll and year-end activities for Canada and North America
  • Validates HR data maintained with BHP\'s HR systems for the Potash/Canada business
  • Engages directly with customers or through HR Business Partners to clarify issues, seek further information and provide status updates about in-flight queries and transactions
  • Builds and maintain strong, long-lasting stakeholder relationships and develops a trusted advisor relationship with key internal and external stakeholders
About the Role con\'t
  • Completes final check and approval of periodic payroll processing
  • Provides SME advice on country specific payroll reporting requirements
  • Manages updates to payroll due to legislative changes, payroll thresholds, and rates
  • Governs compliance with annual reporting requirements relating to payroll
  • Supports regular HR data cleanse activities and manages bulk data change requests
  • Works to contextualize customer enquiries and escalations in order to provide a quick path to resolution
  • Supports the Talent Acquisition team (as required), and understands the recruitment process to be able to act as a representative for BHP at events such as career fairs.
About You
  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of HR tools, processes and systems, including analytics and planning skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement/relationship management skills
  • Passion for continuous improvement, including follow through of implementation of initiatives
