The Opportunity:

We are looking for an Electrical Inspection Specialist to join our Wire Inspection Services team. Reporting to the Chief Electrical Inspector you will join a team of professionals at our Ragged Lake location where we offer you a hybrid work option.
Key elements of this role include::
Technical review of electrical plans and proposals for acceptability to current Canadian Electrical Code requirements, Nova Scotia Power Utility Standards, and related Provincial Regulations. Evaluating complex electrical designs and specifications, interpret, and apply applicable regulations, codes, policies, and procedures, and provide technical support to Wiring Inspectors, Electrical contractors, and consulting firms. Drawings review, co-ordination, and written and verbal correspondence. Assisting the Chief Electrical Inspector with customer inquiries and inspection related duties. Developing work procedures, inspection bulletins, inspection policies, field visits and investigations. Provide technical support and training to various Nova Scotia Power departments as required


You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills listed below:Red Seal Construction Electrician certification or Electrical Engineering Technologist diploma is required. The successful candidate must have an in-depth knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code Part 1, ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics and apply this knowledge to the electrical inspection function. Judgment and decision-making skills and an analytical approach to work prioritization is required. Exceptional communications skills and demonstrated leadership capabilities are required. Candidates will have experience in office computer software, including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Power Point along with the ability to learn internal software systems. Experience in electrical project management, electrical estimating or electrical design is an asset
