We\'re looking for a mission-driven Specialist, Digital Content who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.

Your Impact at CNIB

  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to conceptualize, develop, test, and deploy impactful and accessible digital content with a focus on website content updates, email campaigns, donation pages and event websites.
  • Loads content on public websites and other platforms, manipulating layouts, building forms and other content pages using Drupal 9 and WordPress CMS.
  • Builds and maintains peer-to-peer and event fundraising pages and transactional and donation webforms using raisin.
  • Deploying email campaigns with Campaign Monitor.
  • Manages Google My Business and locations pages on public websites.
  • Comfortable with digital media including but not limited to images, videos, image and video file types, and PDFs with ability to utilize Photoshop to manipulate imagery to create web ready image files.
  • Ensures that all work complies with brand standards, spelling, grammar, punctuation.
  • In all content strategy and implementation work, places emphasis on user experience, user paths, usability best practices, and accessibility.

Education and Certifications
  • Degree or diploma in related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum two years hands-on content management and digital experience.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and vision loss.
  • Demonstrated experience, understanding & knowledge of content management systems like Drupal, WordPress, or Shopify.
  • Direct email platform experience with Campaign Monitor, Constant Contact, Mailchimp or other modern email platforms.
  • An interest and aptitude for basic coding in HTML and CSS.
  • Experience using a screen reader, such as JAWS, for testing purposes.
  • Knowledge about assistive technology (screen readers, screen magnification, etc.) and how it can be used by people of different abilities to render the online experience accessible.
  • An interest in learning more about web accessibility standards and best practices including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0), ATAG (Authoring Tools Accessibility Guidelines) and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • Knowledge about SEO best practices.
  • Experience of knowledge of voiceover technology for iOS and Android an asset.
  • Experience with tools like Window Eyes, JAWS, Total Validator, etc. to ensure ongoing compliance with all accessibility standards and general best practices an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven digital project skills, with experience in implementing projects from conception through completion.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization skills.
  • Comfortable working in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong creative and strategic thinking skills with an ability to develop and execute outside-the-box ideas in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of relevant design, video and audio editing software, including InDesign, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of social media best practices.
  • Professional attitude, results oriented, self-directed, and flexible.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office.
  • Demonstrated strong initiative, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
