Consolidated Management Reporting Specialist:

Our client is searching for a Consolidated Management Reporting Specialist to take initiative and think strategically. A successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. This role requires the ability to transition between working independently and supporting team initiatives.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Developing, implementing and reviewing processes related to the position to ensure compliance to policies, standards, regulatory requirements and to ensure mitigation of risks
  • Preparing monthly financial results for the Senior Management Team and preparing quarterly external financial results, including Management Discussions and Analysis
  • Prepare media releases for the Board to approve
  • Work with Senior Managers, and Controllers in order to provide consistent presentation of consolidated variance analysis
  • Maintain confidentiality in regards to business development activities and variance explanations that is not publicly available yet.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial reporting standards, accounting policies, and external filing requirements
  • Provide input and recommendations for how preliminary agreements and contracts for new acquisitions are written to ensure the company is able to clearly account and disclose those transactions
  • Provide support and guidance to all units in the business to ensure the completion and reconciliation of intercompany elimination entries, as well as GST, income tax, deferred taxes, and other transactions as part of the Consolidation process
  • Prepare and review consolidated working papers to support the financial information being presented in the Consolidated Financial Statements
  • Provide support and assistance in responding to inquiries from auditors
  • Prepare consolidated budget and forecasts variance analysis and presentation working papers in collaboration with the Management Team
  • Identify accounting issues, performing research and considering impacts of issues on consolidated reporting practices and internal controls, including recommending solutions, and communicating accounting impacts to key personnel
Your strengths include:
  • An accredited accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA and CGA)
  • Diploma or Degree (or Equivalent) in Business, Finance or Accounting from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • 6+ years of directly related and progressively responsible professional accounting experience A good understanding of current IFRS accounting guidance and policies
  • Understanding the company financial processes will be considered an asset
  • Understanding and demonstrated experience of Oracle financial system and related support systems, specifically Oracle General Ledger, Business Intelligence, Adaptive Insights and Office Connect, will be considered an asset.
  • Understanding and use of Excel applications for financial analysis will be considered an asset
  • Ensuring effective and efficient completion of deliverables by applying a continual improvement process
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
