About the Role

The CM Specialist role is responsible for the Configuration Management (CM) activities, which ensure that all CM functions relative to identification, configuration change, status accounting and audits are maintained in accordance with contractual requirements, CM practices, and QA standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Manages Engineering Change requests (ECR\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s), and variances- deviations/waivers (DW\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s) from initiation through disposition by performing the following tasks:

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Reviews and perform analysis of the proposed changes and variances to determine impact and identify affected projects/ customers & ensure that contractual requirements for configuration are fulfilled; collaborate with Program Office to identify Customer\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s with special Configuration Requirements. When required ensure adequate information is available for customer review and approval;

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Participates and provides input to the Technical review boards (TRB meetings) and ensure the proposed changes are fully developed /assed from technical perspective and all the affected parts /documents are listed on the ECR;

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Ensuring Cost estimates are performed and included for each ECR;

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Prepare ECR for CRB meeting review ensuring sufficient information is available for CRB members to make an adequate business decision (benefits vs cost) for the proposed changes;

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Facilitates/chairs the Configuration Review Board (CRB) meetings; preparing/recording/distributing the agenda/ minutes and guiding the resolution for the presented proposed changes. Chair NPI CCB (new Product Introduction Change Control Board) and approve changes; ensure that changes have no impact to sustaining programs;

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Ensures the success of the implementation phase of the change process by:

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Establishing a detailed implementation plan for all tasks with inputs from impacted functional groups.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Scheduling the Change Implementation Board (CIB) meeting, and distributing the CIB agenda;

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Chairing the CIB meeting to review change implementation plans and schedules with the cross-functional team in order to identify and quantify risks to schedule and mitigate those risks.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Audit the Change packages to assure continuity between the old and new datasets, and for releasing the qualified datasets;

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Ensures regular interface with internal customers to coordinate priorities, issue resolution or to provide guidance on CM processes and concepts;

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Support the development/implementation of the departmental projects/goals;

Required Capabilities

Desired Education and Experiences

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Bachelor\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience in Configuration Management, or

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience in Configuration Management, or

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in Configuration Management

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Complete understanding and application of Configuration Management functions, and principles (CM Industry standard EIA-649, ISO10007 etc.);

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7CMII or CMPIC certification or other CM related Certification an asset;

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Ability to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods Program clearance
