You\xe2\x80\x99ll monitor, assess and make recommendations with respect to compliance with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s operating regulations, and will be responsible for compliance investigations, responding to internal/external compliance inquiries and participating in the development and maintenance of department processes.

  • Supporting the Manager with new compliance frameworks and responsible for updating of existing compliance frameworks.
  • Investigating alleged non-compliance with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s operating regulations.
  • Evaluating and tracking requests for waivers and/or temporary exemptions requests.
  • Reviewing transaction activity for regulatory reporting purposes.
  • Researching and understanding compliance obligations within the payments industry.
  • Participating in the review of compliance audit program submissions from Members/Participants.
  • Organizing and participating in the department\xe2\x80\x99s annual Member event.
  • Assisting with administration activities (e.g. maintenance of the intranet pages, publication of documents, and preparation of internal process documents).
  • Promoting effective collaboration with business unit owners and with policy unit staff.
  • Regularly updating internal process documents to ensure consistent and predictable handling of compliance and regulations processes.
  • Understanding compliance obligations and providing recommendations to more senior Compliance & Enforcement staff regarding:
  • Enforcement of regulations.
  • PCI compliance.
  • Compliance and enforcement input on cross-functional projects; information requests/audit demands/other queries from legislative, regulatory or law enforcement entities.
Who are you?
  • You have a minimum 2 years of experience in similar role.
  • You have a University Degree (or equivalent in experience).
  • You understand compliance processes and procedures \xe2\x80\x93 both external and internal facing.
  • You have experience managing documents and data in an electronic database.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve a common goal.
  • You have solid critical thinking, analytical and problem resolution skills to analyze trends and impacts, identify options and implications, and propose practical solutions.
  • You\xe2\x80\x99re able to multi-task, prioritize activities, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • You are resourceful, organized and possess sound judgment.
  • You have strong writing, grammar and proof-reading skills.
  • You\xe2\x80\x99re able to research and/or investigate issues to execute on assigned tasks.
  • You are familiar with and understand the payments industry.
  • It\xe2\x80\x99s an asset if you\xe2\x80\x99re able to speak and read French.
