Purpose of Position:




Pacekids Programs is a family-focused, non-profit service provider that empowers children with diverse needs and their families through excellence in therapy, education, and play.


The Specialist, Communications and Engagement,is responsible for the development, creation, and execution of Pacekids' communications, marketing, and engagement efforts, including community engagement, brand positioning, graphic design, traditional, and social media relations -- while providing support to all programs and departments. The Specialist, Communications and Engagement, participates in the development of the communications, marketing and engagement strategies, and the establishment of annual marketing and engagement business objectives that support Pacekids' strategy.


This is a full-time permanent position, with hours outside of a regular workday occasionally required. Diplomacy and tact are required as this position has access to confidential information.

What You'll Do:




Communications and Marketing

Participate in the development of the annual communications, marketing, and engagement strategy, and annual objectives that align with Pacekids' strategy. Manage the delivery and execution of communications, marketing, and engagement objectives and services to the organization. Management of the Pacekids' voice through all internal and external communication channels, ensuring effective brand positioning. Creates and recommends content to be pitched and/or promoted via traditional media outlets. Build and maintain relationships with media industry contacts. Provide communications and messaging support to members of the Pacekids' leadership team, as requested. Contribute marketing, communications and engagement related content, including Google analytics, to monthly Board Reports.

Program Support

Contribute to the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives and internal communications, participating, and leading initiatives as required. Support the execution of signature events through the creative development of promotional, marketing, and advertising materials, as well as media planning and tactical implementation (traditional and social). Coordinate and take photos of community events, signature events, programs, and physical spaces. Attendance at community and signature events as required for support. Working collaboratively with the fund development team, support the design and messaging of initiatives. Contribute to the creation of compelling copy and promotional elements to support the success of all internal, fundraising, and program initiatives.

Graphic Design

Design and produce high-quality creative across print and digital platforms: marketing collateral, web graphics, display ads, social media, signage, and more. Contribute to concept development and creative direction that reflects Pacekids' brand voice. Prepare files for production across print and digital. Collaborate cross-functionally with fund development and program teams. Present work with clarity and purpose, while receiving and implementing feedback with agility. Maintain visual consistency across campaigns while championing design best practices. Prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Social Media Management

Monitor, respond to, and engage in conversations in Pacekids' online communities. Perform day-to-day logistics for Pacekids' social media sites and monitor/report on successes and trends. Develop engaging and informed content and maintain Pacekids' presence on all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn). Propose creative ideas and solutions to ensure the Pacekids' brand is constantly innovating in the social space.

Pacekids' Website

Manage and create content for Pacekids.ca, ensuring that information is accurate, up-to-date, and that it reflects the current activities and priorities of Pacekids. Maximize Pacekids' reach through SEO; work proactively to raise the profile of Pacekids.ca.

What You'll Bring

:



Three to five years' experience with demonstrated results in marketing, communications, and/or stakeholder engagement. Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in a related field. Strong creativity, initiative, and ability to connect with a diverse community. High degree of digital literacy, including mastery of Microsoft Office programs (MS SharePoint, OneDrive) and social media platforms , web development. Skills in graphic design, including experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar. Experience with WordPress website management (or similar). Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal. Excellent and adaptable communication and interpersonal skills. Strong belief in the value of collaboration and team connection. Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance issued by local police station required.
