Job Description


We are currently looking for a qualified Specialist, Commercial Learning & Development to join the Lundbeck Canada Learning & Development team. This position is permanent full-time located at our Ville Saint-Laurent head-office. The incumbent will report to the Senior Manager, Learning & Development. Your Position:

The Commercial Learning and Development Specialist, reports to the Senior Manager, Learning & Development and is responsible for the development and roll-out of the sales and commercial training curriculum and initiatives. For sales training, the scope is product and disease knowledge, effective selling and communication skills, business acumen and any training need identified as priority to enable effective customer engagement and excellence in execution. As part of this, development workshops can be offered to the marketing teams and other internal stakeholders in alignment with priorities and plans. This is a full-time position and is located in the Montreal head-office.

Training Plan Development and Execution

  • Develop an annual commercial training plan in alignment with the brand priorities and the needs identified by yourself, the Learning & development team or the Sales and Marketing team to achieve strategic business goals and results.
  • Act as lead trainer to keep curricula up to date for core training initiatives, own and coordinate onboarding of new commercial team members. These new hire curricula include all promoted brands, with current marketing strategies and resources.
  • Work with stakeholders to determine learning needs and priorities and provide appropriate training to meet those learning needs.
  • Liaise effectively with Leadership Teams and cross-functional team members, to develop workshops that meet participants\' needs and identify optimal resources to support training roll-out. For Alliance brand workshops, liaise with the Otsuka training department to ensure alignment within the training plan.
  • Plan, design, develop and facilitate as need training workshops and materials, as per the annual training plan (for national/ regional meetings, core training, customer groups) and establish a critical path for effective roll-out.
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Learning & Development to assess, create and execute programs to upskill and address corporate development needs.
Support Coaching Initiatives to Drive Excellence
  • Work collaboratively with Directors Marketing & Sales and Senior Manager Learning & Development to develop strong coaching plans for Regional and National Business Managers.
  • Work closely with Regional and National Business Managers to support coaching during onboarding period.
  • Ensure coaching plans support customer engagement effectiveness and contribute to excellence in execution.
  • Optimize coaching initiatives and continuous training throughout the year by leveraging various platforms; face to face or remote platforms such as LuCAdemy Learning Hub, iCoach, as well as remote meetings / webinars, other platforms.
  • Collaborate with Senior Manager Learning & Development and other Commercial L & D Specialists on optimizing coaching applications and platforms and training effectiveness.
Documentation and Monitoring
  • Monitor and assess training effectiveness and in-field application of training outcomes through field visit.
  • Develop and then leverage surveys and training assessments to incorporate recommendations and enhancements going forward.
  • Maintain required training documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide materials and developmental support for presentations at national, regional and flash meetings.
  • Ensure training plans, documentation and monitoring are always done in compliance with Lundbeck\'s requirements and processes and comply with all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
Professional Development
  • Act as lead resource for attending training events and conferences such as LTEN, to develop and maintain a high level of training expertise.
  • Attend scientific, learning and education events to maintain a high level of professional expertise.
  • Dedicate time to do work within field, meeting customers to continuously improve understanding of customers needs.
  • Develop a personal development plan, as updated each year within the performance management system.
Position Qualifications:
  • University degree in science or business administration.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry, including previous coaching/training experience; well-versed in the latest trends in adult learning principles, eLearning, and experienced in conducting virtual training sessions is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to successfully plan, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams on complex, time sensitive deliverables
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, and Remote learning platforms an asset.
  • Experience in neurology an asset.
