What we are looking for:
Under the supervision of the Manager, Client Experience and Account Services, the Specialist will build and maintain strong relationships with professionals across the broader Client Service and Investment Operations departments and with external transition managers, prime brokers, custodians, counterparties, system vendors and fund administrators.
The ideal candidate has a proven ability to work with very tight deadlines and a high degree of analytical skills to problem solving in a complex setting. The role is aimed at someone who can work in a fast-paced operational environment, must be innovative and flexible in responding to numerous clients' demands. Additionally, the candidate will actively participate in identifying opportunities for enhancing and streamlining existing departmental controls, processes and reporting both with internal and external business partners.
Your responsibilities:Actively align, participate and contribute to the goals and objectives of the firm; including the transformation of our technology and operational platform within a global operating environment.
Analyze, plan and execute various tasks associated with assets transfers, account openings, closing and restructuring by coordinating with various internal and external parties and executing them in a timely accurate manner;
Coordinate with custodian for Fiera Capital pooled funds on all market account openings, completing documentation and working with internal groups to execute account creations;
Monitor data integrity and accuracy of internal systems (i.e., SS&C PACER, CASHMAN, EAGLE);
Set-up system users and monitor batches, internal and external file uploads and execute various jobs daily and advise all parties concerned if there are any issues;
Execute daily cash management and reconciliation controls;
Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reporting for internal and external clients;
Work in collaboration with the Portfolio Administration teams and with the Trade Unit team to streamline the processes by providing expertise, knowledge, direct assistance and guidance. Act as an escalation point to ensure outstanding issues are handled and resolved in a timely manner;
Ensure the maintenance and support of the databases and systems used by the department;
Assist in the review of existing controls and updating team procedures;
Execute various tasks related to special assignments and projects; and,
Assist the Manager with different administrative tasks as required.
Create innovative solutions to:
+ Identify opportunities to improve process and procedures to meet industry best practices;
+ Participate in different improvement initiatives as they relate to the trading and administration of Fiera Capital strategies;
+ Develop close relationships with the different external intermediaries to foster the integration of all client reporting;
+ Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure all relevant integration tasks are completed.
Must have requirements to be successful in this role:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or Commerce related field.
Canadian Securities Course (asset).
Minimum 2-3 years experience in investment management industry, preferably with a focus on account on-boarding, asset transfers, account market openings and various aspects of investment manager operations;
Strong knowledge of and familiarity with investment management industry and funds administration;
Strong analytical skills for problem resolution;
Organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities;
Results oriented with a strong capacity to work under pressure with tight deadlines;
Excellent interpersonal and client servicing skills;
Ability to work independently and interact effectively in a group environment;
Diligence, diplomacy and discretion to handle information which is confidential by nature;
Excellent knowledge of MS Office; and,
Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written.
Additional Information:Fiera Capital adheres to a hybrid working environment with 4 days in-office per week.
For all positions in Quebec (Montreal and Laval), proficiency in French, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Working English proficiency is also required in order to serve our offices and clients around the world.
