Overview

The Campaign Specialist position will collaborate with senior management, volunteer leadership and marketing/communications and conservation staff to lead the development and implementation of a multi-level stewardship and donor engagement program that fosters long-term relationships between WWF-Canada and its donors. The incumbent will work closely with the VP Philanthropy and Donor Engagement in the execution and administration of all aspects of the PDE\xe2\x80\x99s fundraising activities with a goal to retaining and upgrading donors to strengthening the donor major gift pipeline. This position will also manage a revenue line. As the organization begins the quiet phase of a major fundraising campaign to support its 10-year Regenerate Canada conservation plan, a growing focus will be to build out a more robust stewardship and recognition program.

Responsibilities

Fundraising:
  • Liaise/engage and communicate with a portfolio of donors and donor advised funds (DAFS) to reinforce their ongoing funding relationship with WWF to solicit and upgrade accordingly
  • With other development and marketing and conservation staff, create stewardship reports, proposals and briefing notes
Events:
  • Works with other WWF event and fundraising staff and to coordinate and execute special donor events to ensure appropriate leveraging of volunteers, attendees, and donor relationships for events
  • Works with marketing and communications team on the coordination and production of all event materials, invitations, speaking notes, and public relations.
Stewardship:
  • Coordinate and project manage select HNW stewardship activities and donor recognition across all major gift revenue streams in the PDE portfolio; including quarterly CEO and volunteer stewardship activities (thank you notes, calls)
  • Working closely with the various resource development teams to coordinate and plan and execute a strategic schedule of stewardship opportunities for each Relationship Manager\xe2\x80\x99s donor list, based on commitments. Ensuring stewardship and donor engagement activities are timely, substantive and meaningful
  • Ensures all aspects of donor recognition plans and maintains and tracks all recognition in Raisers Edge and other listings.
  • Compiles and maintains an inventory of existing stewardship and recognition commitments and opportunities to ensure compliance with the donor recognition policy and gift agreements

Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant field, including fundraising, special events planning and/or project management in a non-profit
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation considered an asset
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in the fundraising/advancement field or equivalent client-focused environment. Exposure to a non-profit fundraising environment and/or a capital campaign is an asset.
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong sense of diplomacy and demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with external and internal stakeholder groups.
  • Understanding of current and emerging best practices in stewardship and donor engagement, or equivalent client relationship best practices, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies that strengthen long-term relationships with major donors.
  • Ability to work independently, rise to new challenges, find creative solutions, and to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment with multiple workflows and competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with Raiser\xe2\x80\x99s Edge; database management is an asset; ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Superior writing skills, preference to experience writing philanthropic grants, proposals and stewardship reports
  • Willingness and ability to work outside of regular business hours is required.
  • Passion for nature and understanding of the science of environmental issues is a must
