Part-Time Special Needs ECE

Position Summary

The Special Needs ECE will support the inclusion and development of children with diverse abilities within our toddler and preschool programs. This role involves working closely with classroom educators, families, and support professionals to create a caring, accessible, and enriching environment for all children.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individualized support and care for children with developmental or physical challenges Adapt programming and routines to meet children's specific needs Collaborate with ECEs and ITs to ensure inclusive classroom experiences Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding progress and needs Implement strategies recommended by therapists, SLPs, or other professionals Maintain accurate observation notes and contribute to care plans Ensure a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment for all children

Qualifications

ECE, or relevant childcare certification Experience working with children with special needs (1+ year preferred) Strong knowledge of inclusive practices and early childhood development First Aid & CPR Certification (or willing to obtain) Clear criminal record check (with vulnerable sector screening) Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Working Hours

Part-time hours (e.g. 15-25 hours/week; specific schedule to be discussed) Flexibility required for mornings or afternoons
