Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated support worker to support students in a dynamic after school program evnivornment for children aged 6 - 12 years. The ideal candidate will assist with various student needs, including health and safety, while fostering an engaging atmosphere. This role is vital in ensuring students receive the necessary support to thrive socially.

Prior experience in childcare is required, as is a caring attitude and willingness to learn. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives while working within a collaborative team.

Duties

Provide assistance with daily activities for students with diverse needs. Support students with disabilities, including those who require 1 to 1 supervision as they are a flight risk. Assist with light cleaning duties to maintain a safe and sanitary environment. Help facilitate inclusive activities that promote social interaction and engagement among students. Support teachers and staff by helping manage classroom activities and behavioral needs.

Experience

Prior experience working with special needs children is required. Candidates should demonstrate patience, compassion, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting student well-being through compassionate care and assistance within an educational setting.
Required - Criminal Record Check, First Aid, Minimum of Responsible Adult Course (can be done during employment) - Ideally - BI, ECE, ECEA, SEA, EA etc or extensive experience working with children with diverse abilities.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
