Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced childcare worker to support a 6-year-old child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This rewarding part-time position involves providing meaningful companionship, engaging the child in fun activities, and collaborating with the care team to support developmental goals. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and genuinely passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with special needs.

Schedule:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Compensation:

$28.95/hour

Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one support to a non-verbal 6-year-old child with ASD Foster a fun, safe, and engaging environment through games and outdoor activities Accompany the child to the park and assist with light household tasks Offer companionship and emotional support to both the child and the mother Collaborate with the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) team on select days Implement strategies to manage behavioral challenges in a calm and supportive manner

Qualifications:

Prior experience working with children with ASD or in a similar caregiving role is strongly preferred Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills Ability to build trust and rapport with both the child and their family Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

Additional Information:

No pets in the household The child may exhibit behavioral challenges; training and support may be provided as needed

You'll be paid every week through direct deposit. We'll provide you with ongoing support, regular work opportunities, and coverage under our professional liability insurance.
