Special Education Teachers based in Milton
, who have a diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, and often work with students who have diverse learning needs, including ADHD.
As a Special Education Tutor, you will be offering personalized support in a one-to-one session outside school hours. Tutors working with students with diverse learning needs including ADHD and helping students improve study habits, organization, and time management are preferred!For teachers, teaching is both an art and a science. Patience, empathy, and a willingness to adapt are mandatory. If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of these students, this part-time role could be a rewarding adventure!
Duties:
- Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions with students in Grade 3- Grade 8,
- Key subjects to manage: English and Math curriculum for Ontario School Boards.
- Create personalized lesson plans and teaching materials based on the individual
needs of each student.
- Assist students in understanding difficult concepts and improving their academic
performance.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to enhance the learning
experience.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents or guardians
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop strategies for student success
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress
Skills:
- Strong knowledge and expertise in the Ontario curriculum
- Experience working with children or students in an educational setting
- Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Patience and empathy when working with students who may be struggling
academically.
- Excellent organizational skills to track student progress and manage multiple
tutoring sessions
Requirements:
- Early Childhood Education Diploma and or ABA Therapist
- At least 2 years of experience dealing with ADHD students
- Familiarity with computerized learning platforms and implement behavioral support
plans will be a plus
- Special education experience will be an asset
