Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
As a Special Accounts Specialist II, you will investigate the root causes of loan delinquency among retail members and provide sound financial advice to support recovery solutions that maximize member benefit while minimizing risk to Vancity. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve debt issues and contribute to a differentiated member experience. We're looking for someone analytical, collaborative, and member-focused who can navigate complex financial situations with empathy and precision.
This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at Vancity head office and will report directly to the Team Manager, Special Accounts. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands
How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Assessing the financial situation of retail members to provide tailored advice and support
  • Reviewing member profiles and recommending recovery solutions such as payment arrangements, restructures, litigation, or write-offs
  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders including Visa, ICF, lawyers, insolvency trustees, realtors, and appraisers
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant member files
  • Applying judgment and discretion in line with procedures and policy
  • Escalating unresolved issues to senior staff
  • Contributing to the development of program content and process improvements
  • Acting as a resource for specialized advice and guidance
What You'll Bring to the Team:
  • Post-secondary education or diploma in Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in lending within banking or financial institutions is an asset
  • Strong analytical skills to detect anomalies and resolve discrepancies
  • Solid understanding of financial industry practices and recovery strategies
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to support member engagement

What You'll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $50,000 to $74,500 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
