Job Description

Drivers needed Immediately! We are looking for casual School Bus Drivers to join our team for school sites in Oakbank, Dugald, Anola, Hazelridge, Tyndall, Beausejour, Whitemouth, Powerview, Lac du Bonnet and surrounding areas.

No evenings! No weekends! Flexible work schedule! Mornings (7 to 9), Afternoons (3 to 5), or Both! The average compensation when driving both AM & PM is $95/day.

Where an applicant does not yet possess their Class 2 driver's license or Bus Operator's Certificate, training will be provided. Upon successful completion of the licensing requirements and employment commencing with Sunrise School Division, a reimbursement for training time and licensing fees will be provided, once driving and shift requirements have been met. The minimum prerequisites to be eligible for training require that the applicant must hold a valid Class 5F driver's license and be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:



Ensure the safe transportation of students to and from school, in a timely manner, following a prescribed route, on a daily basis during the school year. Safely transport students to and from other school related activities. Perform daily vehicle check safety inspections, documenting and reporting according to prescribed guidelines. Be safety-minded, abiding by all procedures, regulations and legislative requirements. Comply with all Division and Government regulations, laws and policies and according to the procedures set out by the Province of Manitoba and the Sunrise School Division. Communicate clearly and interact with parents, school employees, passengers, co-workers and the general public in a courteous, professional manner as required.

Qualifications:



No experience required; however, a valid Class 5F driver's license and satisfactory driver's abstract for the last 3 years is required to be eligible for training. Hold or able to obtain a Class 2 Driver's License and a School Bus Operators Certificate. Ability to work under minimal supervision and supervise school bus passengers. Effective communication and customer service skills. Employment is conditional upon a clear Child Abuse Registry Check and satisfactory Criminal Record Check with clear Vulnerable Sector Search.
