Job Title: SOX Analyst





Reporting directly to the SOX Manager, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in internal controls, process improvements, and reporting, while working closely with experienced finance professionals. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has strong analytical skills, and possesses a strong understanding of accounting and auditing principles.




Responsibilities (including but not limited to):




Process and Control Assessment




Conduct walkthroughs, and document business processes and IT systems to support internal control assessments Test the design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of controls as part of the SOX compliance program

Risk Management and Compliance




Identify and evaluate risks associated with new systems, processes, or technologies Assess adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement




Partner with cross-functional teams to gain insights into key risks, controls, and operational procedures Engage with control owners and stakeholders to foster a strong culture of compliance and internal control awareness

Documentation and Reporting




Prepare clear and organized documentation related to risk assessments, control evaluations, and scoping activities Develop concise reports summarizing audit findings and recommending improvements

Confidentiality and External Coordination




Maintain accuracy, independence, and confidentiality related to financial and operational data Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies, providing required documentation and support

Other Duties




Perform other related duties as assigned



The Ideal Candidate



Education / Qualifications:




Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field Professional certification, such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) 3-5 years of experience in internal or external auditing, or related financial roles

Experience / Skills




Strong foundation in auditing and accounting concepts Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software; experience with Pronto XI is a strong asset Familiarity with service organization reports, IT and cybersecurity practices, and the mining industry (preferred) Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and reasoning abilities Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion Collaborative team player with a proactive, self-motivated approach



Work Location & Conditions





This is an office-based job, in Skeena's Corporate office located in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Monday to Friday schedule. Additionally, the job is in a fast paced, and at times stressful working environment, with having to manage multiple competing priorities. Some flexibility in work location may be considered.




Compensation



The expected salary range for this position is CAD $90,000-$110,000 in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Hourly ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
