Please note this is a 10-month contract position.

Schedule:

Sunday to Wednesday, and Saturday, 9:30am to 6:00pm

Responsibilities:

Be attentive to residents' needs Prepare meals using various cooking techniques and established recipes Ensuring meals are appropriately served and portioned Following guidelines, food safety standards, and established cleaning and sanitization practices to ensure the cleanliness of cooking equipment and work areas Perform other related tasks as assigned

Experience and Educational Requirements:

4 years of experience as a cook, must be familiar with hot food preparation High School Diploma Certification of mandatory training in public health and sanitation Food Handling Permit Knowledge of retirement homes and institutional environment is an asset

Non-Technical Requirements:

Must be able to work alone (closing duties required) Must be proactive and take own initiative Keen sense of customer service Flexibility with schedule and ability to adapt
