Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management.
Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation.
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
Ensure proper food handling and storage procedures are followed to maintain food safety.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and enhance existing offerings.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to health regulations.
Provide leadership and support during busy service periods, ensuring smooth operations.
Skills
Proven experience in supervising kitchen staff and managing a team effectively.
Strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food service operations.
Red Seal or culinary education an asset.
Background in restaurant management with knowledge of kitchen workflows.
Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations within the food industry.
Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Previous experience in hospitality settings is preferred, showcasing your ability to thrive under pressure.
