An exciting, full-time Sous Chef position is now available as part of our kitchen team to assist with leading a team of dynamic and energetic individuals while allowing creativity and personal growth. The role of Sous Chef is critical to the execution of successful back of house operations and the overall success of the business. With a direct impact in furthering the goals of the business through a consistent and high-quality food offering, the Sous Chef maintains the operational flow of the business at all times while taking on any project of the Chef's choosing.
As Sous Chef, some of the duties you will be required to complete, but are not limited to, include:
Work with a great team who value your personal and professional time and progression
Monitor, uphold and deliver high food standards within our fast-paced kitchen, ensuring timely delivery of food which meet and exceed our guest's expectations
Maintain all kitchen areas in a meticulously clean and organized manner
Ensure quality and consistency in our daily operations and take responsibility for ensuring food safety standards are always being met
Assist in managing logistics such as stock control and placing orders
Monitor and implement controls to minimize wastage
Assist in the ongoing management and assessment of the kitchen team's individual performance and conduct with the support of the Head Chef, including progressive discipline and performance reviews
Assist in the leadership of the culinary team including onboarding, training and coaching
Continuously promote teamwork and encourage others to set up - themselves, the team, and the business - for success
Please note, this list is not exhaustive and you will be expected to complete other duties that ensure the success of the business.
This is a full-time role that requires strong leadership, initiative, communication, conflict resolution and collaborative skills as the Sous Chef is the leader in the absence of the Chef.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience working within a high-volume restaurant (references required), a culinary or trade school certificate is an asset, previous supervisory experience and hold a Food Safe certification.
You must be able to remain calm under pressure, be highly organized and detail orientated whilst remaining professional at all times. As this role involves the supervision of staff, it is essential that you are able to build solid working relationships that are fair, consistent, friendly, diplomatic and firm that uphold the goals of the business.
This role has a direct impact on the guest experience, and requires a high degree of attention to detail and strong leadership, responsiveness, and the ability to incorporate feedback into personal development.
