We are on the hunt for a dedicated and passionate Sous chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, ensuring food safety standards, and delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role requires a strong understanding of food handling and preparation techniques, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Duties
Working independently and organise staff ensure staff are following recipes and procedures
Assist the Chef in daily ordering
An understanding of meat cooking and pastas
Prepare various salads and cold appetisers, as well as desserts
Set and maintain mise en place
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality control.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Collaborate with the Chef in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes.
Experience
Previous experience in a Sous or management or food.
Knowledge of food handling practices and kitchen safety regulations is essential.
Familiarity with various cooking techniques and cuisines is a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual responsibilities.
Strong communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and other management effectively.
