We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef who can lead our culinary team with passion, creativity, and precision. The Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, staff management, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute creative and innovative menus that showcase seasonal ingredients and culinary trends
Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including cooking, plating, and presentation
Manage and mentor kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards at all times
Collaborate with management to control food costs and maintain budgetary guidelines
Work closely with vendors to source the highest quality ingredients
Stay current on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and recipes into menu offerings
Collaborate with the bar team to develop new menu items and specials that reflect current culinary trends and seasonal ingredients.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
Monitor kitchen inventory and order supplies as needed to maintain appropriate stock levels.
Assist in creating and updating standard operating procedures to streamline kitchen operations.
Conduct regular food tastings and menu evaluations to maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
Actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions to foster a positive and productive work environment.
Support special and catering events and promotions by providing creative input and executing food service plans as needed.
Take initiative to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance kitchen efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role in a high-volume kitchen
Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
Strong leadership and team-building skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Creative flair and passion for culinary excellence
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.32-$28.80 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
Work Location: In person
