About ARGOS Bar | Bistro



Do you love working in a kitchen environment where quality and consistency are key? ARGOS Bar | Bistro is looking for a full-time Sous Chef to join our team! This is a key position within our organization that plays a critical role in providing excellent internal and external customer service.

ARGOS Bar | Bistro is where the flavours of North Mediterranean take centre stage in a vibrant fusion of Spanish, Greek and Italian cuisine. At ARGOS, guests embark on a culinary journey through the sun-soaked landscapes of these coastal regions and tantalizing dishes crafted with authenticity and innovation. Our menu caters to all tastes, offering a diverse selection of tapas, shareable platters, and individual dishes, ensuring there's something for everyone to savour.

Responsibilities



Ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation, focusing on Mediterranean cuisine. Support the Chef in ensuring smooth and efficient daily kitchen operations. Enforce standard operating procedures related to food preparation, cleanliness, and equipment use. Assist the Chef in menu planning and recipe development, with an emphasis on Mediterranean cuisine. Assist in the training, supervision, and mentorship of kitchen staff. Support the execution of seasonal and promotional menus, ensuring proper training for new dishes. Ensure every dish is prepared according to company standards and specifications from the Recipe Binder. Manage inventory and order supplies as needed. Assist in implementing cost-control measures to optimize profitability. Promote a positive work environment that fosters teamwork, respect, and professionalism.

Qualifications



A minimum of three years of professional cooking experience and one year of supervisory experience are required. Experience in Mediterranean or Italian cuisine preferred. Fluent in English. Food and Safety Management Certificate. Red Seal & First Aid Certified is an asset. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to remain calm and prioritize tasks under pressure. Precision in following recipes and presentation guidelines. A genuine passion for the restaurant industry and providing excellent customer service.
