We are currently recruiting for a Full-time Permanent Sous Chef at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Conference Centre in Regina, SK.
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef is responsible for assisting in managing the kitchen and stewarding function, for directing all aspects of food preparation and presentation for food outlets and catering functions, meeting the highest levels of quality and cost-effectiveness consistent with hotel standards and performance requirements.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting in the overall management of the Food Preparation Department.
Ensure that all food products produced are of the utmost quality and appeal.
Operation of the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef.
Provide training, cross-training and performance management for kitchen staff.
Acts as a liaison with other departments.
Maintains all occupational standards i.e.: Food Safe, WHMIS, Health and Safety Policies
Assists with monthly inventories and maintains budgeted food cost
Assist in building and maintaining a creative and fun work environment
Coordinate work schedules to reflect the business needs as per Banquet Event Orders
Preferred Education & Qualifications:
minimum 3-5 years' experience as a CDP or First Cook within a full-service hotel property or large scale restaurant
Food Safe certification or Provincial equivalent is an absolute requirement
Strong multi-tasking abilities along with excellent communication and organizational
Demonstrated leadership ability possessing excellent motivational and coaching skills
