Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef to complete our Back of House Team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our Head Chef and will assist with the preparation & planning of rotational & special event menus and all kitchen operations. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment where creativity, consistency, and team work are valued.
This is a full-time salaried position offering $41,500.00 annually for a 37-hour work week with shifts running between 11:30 am & 8:30 pm. Shift times will vary with special events. We are open every day & candidates must be available on weekends, weekdays & public holidays.
Duties
:
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and managing daily food preparation activities.
Assist with the supervision of kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to recipes.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes while maintaining high standards of presentation and flavor.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices at all times.
Ensure food is stored appropriately with covering, no cross-contamination risk and dated for rotation
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
Help manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock levels.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored. Follow & complete all open & close cleaning tasks

Experience
Proven experience in a culinary role within the food industry, preferably in a restaurant setting.
Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food service operations.
Familiarity with food safety guidelines and best practices for food handling.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Safe Food Handler's Certificate, Smart Serve & culinary education are all assets
