Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and safety, along with experience in the food industry and restaurant environment. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food service, and maintaining a positive team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance. Taste and monitor dishes continually for quality and adherence to recipes. Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures. Manage inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Train and mentor support staff, fostering teamwork and collaboration. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen areas. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure understanding of the menu and seamless service Handle any kitchen emergencies or issues that arise promptly and effectively.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the food service industry. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations. Excellent time management skills with the ability to lead by example. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools and cooking techniques. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Ability to self-manage and work alone without supervision. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen, owners and front-of-house staff. A passion for hospitality, the local food community and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
