We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. As a key member of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will support the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety standards, and team coordination. Responsibilities
Assist in supervising kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation personnel, to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
Manage daily kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef, including scheduling, inventory management, and adherence to safety protocols
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper handling procedures to meet health regulations
Support team management by training new staff, mentoring junior team members, and fostering a positive work environment
Collaborate with restaurant management on menu development, special events, and service enhancements
Serve as a leader during service hours by assisting with serving guests when necessary and maintaining excellent customer relations
Monitor cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area to uphold hygiene standards
Qualifications
Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service setting
Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food industry best practices
Experience with restaurant management, team management, and leadership roles within hospitality environments
Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure during busy service hours
Excellent communication skills and the ability to serve as an effective team leader
Previous restaurant experience with a focus on quality food service and customer satisfaction is highly preferred
